Intruder Alarms

Intruder Alarms

We have been installing and maintaining intruder alarm systems for domestic and commercial properties for 9 years. We are a Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB) registered company, which means that all of our installations and maintenance visits are regulated to conform to standards set by the SSAIB.

As well as new installations, we offer the option to undertake a maintenance agreement on an existing intruder alarm system. The price and amount of visits per year for this varies with what type of alarm system you have installed, also the standard of installation that is in place. If this is not working correctly it could be that we need to quote for remedial works before taking on the agreement.

When we install a new alarm system automatically after a year has passed we contact you with the option to have the maintenance agreement, though in the case of a monitored system (police response) this is covered in the price for the monitoring costs and includes a service visit every 6 months.

These types of system installations are available:

Bells Only Systems

Bells only alarm systems operate where when the alarm activates the external and internal sounders sound only, but the alarm does not notify anyone of the activation. This is the most basic type of alarm system available.

For service agreements for this type of system, this includes one service visit per year at a cost of £75 +VAT (this price is correct for 2009 prices, prices may be subject to change on a yearly basis at our discretion). For our maintenance customers, if the alarm system has a fault with equipment at some point and part(s) require(s) replacing as there is a service agreement in place the parts are only charged – the labour is free. Please bear in mind this does not include any upgrades the customer wants to perform to their system or any additions or changes due to works being done on their properties, this would be quoted for separately to the agreement.

Speech Dialler System

The speech dialler system operates by when the alarm activates the internal and external sounders sound, and the speech dialler installed to the alarm system calls a specific number(s) to advise that the alarm is activated. This can be a pre-recorded message by the client or just a normal message. The speech dialler will automatically dial the designated numbers chosen simultaneously. If one number does not answer the dialler will continue dialling other numbers, until the client resets the speech dialler over the phone, or from the alarm panel itself. This option is the next step up from the bells only system.

For service agreements for this type of alarm system, this includes one service visit per year at a cost of £75 +VAT (this price is correct for 2009 prices, prices may be subject to change on a yearly basis at our discretion). Redcare Monitored System

The monitored system operates by when the alarm activates the internal and external sounders sound, and the GSM unit installed goes through to an alarm monitoring station (ARC) via a BT landline, who will then contact the police and keyholders to attend the property. This is the highest level of intruder alarm system that is available and find this is mainly popular amongst the commercial sector as it is an insurance requirement. This option is the most expensive option of the three, though offers the most security protection with the police response.

The maintenance agreement with this type of system consists of a service call once every six months on the system and includes all the monitoring costs. These are priced at £385+VAT per year (prices are true for 2009 pricing, prices are subject to change on a yearly basis at our discretion) and if the renewal is not taken up for this type of alarm system, then the monitoring is discontinued effective immediately.
