Electric Gates - Sliding GatesSliding gates offer a number of advantages over swing gates; they do not need the space that a swing gate requires to open – this is useful where space is restricted, a closed sliding gate offers better resistance to being forced than a pair of swing gates and therefore higher security, sliding gates would also work across an upward sloping driveway; whereas a pair of swing gates would not open inward. Sliding gates are a lot better to use in locations where wind is an issue – more problems can occur with swing gates in this instance. The two main motors we use for sliding gates are the Icaro and Model SP4000 motors, details below: ICARO Motor230V Heavy duty sliding gate motor providing continuous duty for gate loads of up to 2000kg. This is suitable for continuous duty on multi user domestic (apartments) and commercial tracked or cantilever sliding gates. The Icaro comes in kit form also, which we tend to use for motorising existing and new gate installations. ICARO KIT INCLUDES:

SP4000 MotorThe SP4000 continuous duty industrial sliding gate motor for gates of up to 4000kg. This unit drives through a hydro-dynamic clutch, a fluid system which is extremely mechanically sympathetic and allows large loads to be moved, stopped and reversed with the minimum of stress to the drive unit. This is designed for use on large and busy industrial sliding gates, and is the most powerful sliding gate motor available, this is suitable for continuous duty on multi user; commercial tracked or cantilever sliding gates up to 4000kg.
